PARTY FOR JESUS!!!

I came to a realization today that going to church should be like going to a party!!! Earlier I was in a conversation talking about about two church’s  that have made an impact on me and yet I haven’t darkened the doors. Those two church’s are Elevation and Newspring, you can check out their websites to the left of here. Their worship style is too radical for a lot of the older generations. But they are reaching the lost, the people far from God!!! Perry Noble of Newspring and Steven Furtick of Elevation were given a vision to do church in a relevant and radical way, which I commend them for. People have hated on them for using secular music remixes, just like the band Apologetix, in their worship services. Here is Elevation Worship doing “Bull on Parade” by Rage Against The Machine, one of my favorite bands from the 90′s!!!

That’s just one remix from both Elevation and Newspring. Now I know some of you are saying that’s sacrilege or something. I say to those that think that, do your own research. I have, both Perry Noble and Steven Furtick are on Fire for God. It might be radical, but guess what…the organ was considered radical too! God wants you to worship Him with what you’re comfortable with!

John 4:23-24

23 But the time is coming—it has, in fact, come—when what you’re called will not matter and where you go to worship will not matter.
“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship.24 God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”

That right there tells me that it doesn’t matter how I worship as long as I’m worshiping God.  I can worship through rock, rap, metal, r&b, pop, country, and any other genre I want to, as long as i’m truly praising my God in worship.

WOW!!! Let every living, breathing creature praise God!!! I want to party with my God with Loud music!!! HE DIED FOR ME SO I WANT TO SHOW HIM I LOVE HIM BY THROWING HIM THE ILLEST, CRUNKEST, ROCKIN PARTY EVERYDAY!!!! SO WHY NOT AT CHURCH TOO?????

MP3 PLAYERS LIKE CHURCH DENOMINATIONS

Earlier tonight while on Facebook I stumbled upon an argument about which is better iPod or Zune. I did go for the iPod side because I have one. Then all of a sudden it dawned on me that there are many mp3 players and they all play music, no matter which one you get. some may offer other things but they all play music. I thought to myself, you know this is just like how the church is. You have all these different denominations that are preaching out of the same bible, but yet they’re all different. They each offer their own beliefs, but aren’t they all supposed to share the same beliefs because they all preach from the same bible? Where did the church go wrong? Why is the church divided? Why do they have different beliefs? There is something extremely wrong here and it’s high time we acknowledge that!!! I turn you to 1st Corinthians 1:12-13 which says

12 I’ll tell you exactly what I was told: You’re all picking sides, going around saying, “I’m on Paul’s side,” or “I’m for Apollos,” or “Peter is my man,” or “I’m in the Messiah group.”13 I ask you, “Has the Messiah been chopped up in little pieces so we can each have a relic all our own? Was Paul crucified for you? Was a single one of you baptized in Paul’s name?”

That has been weighing on my heart hardcore!!! After reading it for the first time, I was blown away!!! That’s exactly how the church is today!!! Who said the bible isn’t relative?!!! Look at those same scriptures but like this:

12 I’ll tell you exactly what I was told: You’re all picking sides, going around saying, “I’m a Baptist,” or “I’m a Presbyterian,”or “I’m a Catholic,”or “I’m a Methodist,” or “Luther is my man(Lutheran),” or “I’m in the Messiah group,” et cetera. 13 I ask you, “Has the Messiah been chopped up in little pieces so we can each have a relic all our own? Was (insert founder of denomination) crucified for you? Was a single one of you baptized in (insert founder of denomination) name?”

It’s biblical people, the church is supposed to be one body under Christ!!! You don’t see the mormons, muslims, et cetera going around dividing their beliefs. Now granted there are some extremists, but still they all believe the same thing. Why can’t we unite? Why must we be different? Why do we stay divided? We as Christians preach from the same bible, but yet we split ourselves up and the bible is against that. No wonder it’s hard for people to find the one true God when we fight amungst ourselves and stay divided. It’s time to take a stand people, It’s time to set aside our differences and unify under Christ!!! It’s what God intended!!!!! Can you not see that having denominations is a sin??? If you can’t then read that scripture again!!!! Man up!!! Let’s drop the foolishness and unite!!!! Can you imagine the impact on the world once people see that the many Christian denominations dropped their differences and united under Christ for the common good!!!! We could do so much for the world, get off your high horses and read your bible. It’s in there, it might not right out say it but it doesn’t right out say that your denomination is right either. Each denomination was founded by people that didn’t like the biblical teaching of the church they were at!!! Are we actually that ignorant as a collective? I’m speaking the truth here, it’s in the bible!!! Read those verses again and again and again and again!!!!!!

DON’T DATE THE DEAD

Earlier I was listening to Elevation’s series Bringing Sexy Back and Pastor Steven Furtick used Ephesians 2:1, “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins”, when talking about dating non-christians. Do you really want to date someone who’s dead? As I reflected on that Twilight came to mind. For those of you that don’t know the story. Edward is a vampire, living DEAD. Edward symbolizes the non-Christian, the rebel, the bad boy because he is living DEAD! Bella symbolizes the Christian. Bella longs to have a lasting relationship with someone that will never die, because he is already dead. Edward knows that he could never have a real relationship with Bella, so he leaves because he loves her and doesn’t want her to have his same fate.That’s not how life is though, that’s movie magic. Real life the non-Christian guy/girl brings you down to their level and gets what they want from you. Once the fun and flare are gone, so are they.  Because Edward leaves, Bella goes into a state of depression and self doubt. Now that’s exactly how life is, I’ve been there and I’m sure you have or are going through it right now. Bella can’t bring Edward back to life, but Edward can easily make Bella dead. No matter how hard you try, how much you pray it’s easier for them to bring you down.
